Art in the Park, September 4-6, 2010
The Historic Marietta Square and Glover Park is the site of the Art in the Park Festival held each Labor Day weekend, Saturday-Monday. This fine art extravaganza features an artist market, children’s art alley and an artist demonstration area and the famous Painted Pots.
It has been selected by Southeast Tourism Society as a Top 20 event since 2007 and is a Kaleidoscope Award winner from the Southeast Festivals and Events Association.
Art displayed will include paintings, photography, pottery, graphic arts, sculptures, jewelry, woodworking from 150 of the countries finest artists. Festival guests will also have the opportunity to visit the unique shops and boutiques, restaurants, museums and galleries, take in a historic walking tour plus much more, all within walking distance to the festival.
The festival is free with plenty of free parking on the street and in the Cobb County Park Deck. The festival proceeds provide support to the Marietta Business Association who promote local businesses and keep local commerce active. Buy Marietta.

The Family Festival is the Official Race Expo for the U.S. 10K Classic and is free to the public. The Family Festival is located at the Galleria Gardens on Saturday, September 4 (10 a.m. until 6 p.m.) and Sunday, September 5 (noon until 5:00 p.m.).
The Family Festival is the last chance for registered runners to pick up their race packets and timing chips. Registration is also available for those who want to sign-up (there is no race-day registration or packet pick-up). Race staff will be on-hand to assist with Customer Service solutions.
In addition to serving as a one-stop-shop for all of your race needs, the Festival also features an Artists Market, huge interactive kids area and Saturday’s Kid’s Classic Races. The two-day event also features interactive displays, free samples, prizes and great bargains on apparel and fitness gear.

Our goal is to teach good sportsmanship, teamwork, physical fitness, and to develop self confidence in our youth through the game of baseball. We want our children to become strong, healthy, and honest adults. We are focused on developing champions on and off the field.
Registration now open until Sept. 6 for Fall Baseball. Fall baseball will be from Sept. 7 - Oct. 31. Registration is $50 and available for children ages 4-14.

A gripping portrayal of the Great Locomotive Chase, featuring Andrews’ Raiders, a band of Union soldiers and sympathizers, who pulled off a daring scheme to steal The General, a Confederate locomotive. DePoy’s script is a moving portrait of the power of war, featuring Civil War era music. The raiders reviewed their plan in what is now known as the Kennesaw House, a stone’s throw from Theatre in the Square. A world premiere. Recommended for age 16 and up.

Approximately 11,000 runners, walkers, cyclists and inline skaters will compete one on of America’s most challenging courses, raising awareness and funds for children’s charities and the development of the World Children’s Center. The U.S. 10K Classic is known for its hills, organization and runner-friendly benefits. Each finisher enjoys post-race food by Publix Super Markets, drinks from Gatorade and a finish line concert at Six Flags White Water park.

Packets can be picked up at the Family Festival. Participants unable to attend the Family Festival can have their packet mailed for an additional $4 mailing fee. A gripping portrayal of the Great Locomotive Chase, featuring Andrews’ Raiders, a band of Union soldiers and sympathizers, who pulled off a daring scheme to steal The General, a Confederate locomotive. DePoy’s script is a moving portrait of the power of war, featuring Civil War era music. The raiders reviewed their plan in what is now known as the Kennesaw House, a stone’s throw from Theatre in the Square. A world premiere. Recommended for age 16 and up.
