A Little Bit of History at Every Turn
The city of Mableton was named for Robert Mable, who in 1843 purchased 300 plus acres of land. Years later, Mableton was put on the map when the Southern Railway put a train station, followed by a post office about a year later. The historic Mable House plantation is still located on Floyd Road and is preserved as a museum. The unique outdoor performing arts amphitheater has been a wonderful addition to this historic community.
